What if I have implants, a pacemaker, or am pregnant?

Because an MRI uses strong magnetic fields, there are a few things to let us know before your scan.

Please tell us in advance if you have any implants or a pacemaker, medications you take regularly, known allergies, or a possible or confirmed pregnancy.

On the day, you'll also be asked to remove all metal objects. Sharing this information beforehand lets our medical team confirm that the scan is right for you and keep you safe and comfortable.

Also note: before the examination you should not eat anything for 4 hours and only drink water.
